Korean middle and high school students spend a lot of time studying. It could be said they devote most of their waking hours to their studies. Because of this, it is crucial for students to maximize their academic time. Some students have turned to the latest smartphone and tablet apps to support their efforts. For example, there are now mobile apps to help students with math problems. When studying on their own, students may sometimes be confronted by a math question that is too hard to solve. Then, they can take a picture of the math problem and upload it onto an app. The program then analyzes the question, provides the solution, and explains the problem-solving process. Other programs try to help students with English, which is a major part of education in Korea. For instance, a simple app can be used to memorize English vocabulary words while on the move. Students can fill the mobile app with a list of English words that they find confusing. Then, the app automatically arranges the words into a table, so that the students can study them on their smart device. Other programs help students to deal with their numerous assignments and study materials in an orderly fashion. The students can input information about their upcoming assignments and deadlines into a scheduling app. The app then assesses the schoolwork needed to meet the deadlines and sets a quota for each day. Finally, some mobile apps can be used to create the proper mood for studying. These apps offer a variety of calming music, as well as white noise and ASMR background sounds. Students can then choose the best auditory experience to improve their concentration.  |
